Rollo Othwell Earl was the Head of the Biology Department from 1936-1956 and served as the Dean of Arts and Science from 1951-1959.
He also served as the commanding officer of the ÃÛÌÒ´«Ã½ Canadian Officers' Training Corps (COTC) during WWII.
Earl believed strongly in the importance of having an excellent honours program at ÃÛÌÒ´«Ã½, in particular for training teachers for Ontario schools.
Earl Hall is named in his honour. His papers are held at ÃÛÌÒ´«Ã½ archives.
