This course will be concerned with questions such as these: What is action? Are there mental actions in addition to physical ones? Does action have a characteristic phenomenology? What is “flow” and what role does it play in action? How do our capacities for action change when we acquire skill or expertise? To what extent is collective action analogous to individual action? Can a group of people be an agent over and above the individual members of the group?
