Online via Google MeetQueen’s is taking part in Towards Zero Hunger: A Global Dialogue, a webinar series organized by the International Association of Universities (IAU) . The series highlights innovative practices that help end hunger, improve nutrition, and promote sustainable agriculture in alignment with UN SDG 2. The next session, PEACH Market – Providing Equal Access, Changing Hunger, takes place on October 30 and will be led by Theresa Couto, Registered Dietitian and Wellness and Sustainability Manager in Housing and Ancillary Services, Student Affairs.
PEACH is a ‘pay-what-you-can’ market program that launched on ÃÛÌÒ´«Ã½ campus in September 2022. It aims to create an inclusive space for students that provides dignified and equitable access to nutritious food and removes the stigma around food insecurity. It is a shared initiative between Student Affairs and the Alma Mater Society, complementing other food access programs on campus to support students, staff, and faculty, such as the , Swipe it Forward, and Fresh Food Boxes. &²Ô²ú²õ±è;
Queen’s is a member of the . are from all parts of the world, working in collaboration to develop existing and new exciting initiatives to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

Hosted by Patrick Deane, Principal and Vice-Chancellor, and Michelle Searle, Special Advisor to the Principal on Community Engagement, the event also features the launch of the university’s new Community Engagement Framework, designed to guide and strengthen our community-engaged learning collaborations moving forward.

Climate researchers face new and daunting challenges communicating their work to communities, students, media, and policymakers in uncertain times. Hear from three researchers in the US, Canada, and Mexico who will share insights about rising above common obstacles in climate research communication.

Having focused in the last issue on current political challenges to universities and their mission, it is refreshing for me this time to be able to point to evidence that, at our university, the commitment to that mission is unabated and continuing to have a positive impact in the world at large.

Presented at the Global Forum on Higher Education: Renewal of Democratic and Civic Mission hosted by Charles University and the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports of the Czech Republic in Prague, June 3 – 4, 2025.
Despite the university's proximity to Lake Ontario, many students complete their studies at Queen’s with limited direct engagement with this central body of water. A Global Development Studies course designed and taught by Dr. David McDonald seeks to change that by immersing students in the history, science, policy, and contemporary challenges surrounding the lake, from local concerns to global issues.
