VP Research Office
Research represents one of the most dynamic elements of the university enterprise at ĂŰĚŇ´«Ă˝. The role of the Vice-Principal Research (VPR) reflects the responsibilities associated with coordinating and promoting research, and advancing the research activities that contribute to new discoveries and creative works, scientific and technical breakthroughs, advances in the social sciences and humanities, innovation, institutional reputation, and importantly to the education and training of both undergraduate and graduate students.
Whether you are a seasoned researcher, new to ĂŰĚŇ´«Ă˝, a potential partner, or just visiting, the VPR office provides information regarding research programs and opportunities for funding and partnerships. If our office can be of assistance, or should you wish to provide feedback, please email research@queensu.ca.

Knowledge mobilization
Knowledge mobilization, knowledge exchange, knowledge translation are analogous terms for moving research findings into broader practice and policy for partners’ use. Knowledge brokering (the process of facilitating the exchange of knowledge) will be employed across community engagement initiatives and research to ensure Queen’s advances knowledge. Doing CE is one thing, studying it at scale across a large-scale is something else that will contribute to new understandings about how to better go about this putting research to practice.
Considering community engagement research?
- What issue does the project aim to address?
- Is there anything about this issue that you do not know and would like to find out more about?
- What kind of skills or preparation will students need to effectively contribute to your organization
- What form of commitment are you able to make to support the students partnering with your organization?
